Enfield Voluntary Action is known as EVA. We help people & groups access knowledge, skills & resources to make a difference in our Borough.
Together We Learn is a new ESOL project funded by the Ministry of Communities, Housing and Local Government and administered by the WEA, in partnership with Enfield Voluntary Action.
The project wants community partners who can bring in learners who would benefit from 44 hours of free ESOL tuition for beginners (pre-Entry and Entry 1), supporting them to better understand and integrate more fully into their wider communities. The programme offers
12 hours of tutor-led engagement workshops that focus on participants’ interests (creative crafts, health and wellbeing etc) as a gentle introduction to the group and to boost confidence.
20 hours of focused ESOL tuition, led by a qualified tutor and supported by volunteers.
12 hours of community exploration, where participants are encouraged to go out in volunteer-led groups and discover what their local area has to offer, such as museums, parks, children’s centres and libraries.
Learners will be supported by fully-trained volunteers who will help them to find progression routes into formal or accredited provision to continue to develop their English.
This project is an opportunity to develop a partnership with WEA, the adult education charity, to deliver 44 hours of free ESOL tuition for beginners (pre-Entry and Entry 1).
EVA will be holding a free workshop with WEA on 16th May, 10.30am -12:30pm so you can learn more about the project and ask any questions you may have. (Simple booking form below)
Your current volunteers can participate to lead these groups & will be offered FREE training. WEA also offer some funding, including childcare, for all groups who take part.
