MEMBERSHIP OF EVA
Full or Associate membership of Enfield Voluntary Action is free, renewable annually and available to all voluntary organisations in the London Borough of Enfield that meet the criteria set out below by EVA’s Board of Trustees. Only full member organisations can nominate a representative to be an EVA Director and/or vote at the Annual General Meeting or Extraordinary General Meetings.
MEMBERSHIP CRITERIA
A. FULL MEMBERSHIP
1. Groups wishing to become full members of EVA must meet the following criteria:
1.1 Voluntary, Community and Charitable Organisations based in and providing 80% of their services to people living or working in the London Borough of Enfield.
1.2 Voluntary and Community Organisations in full membership of Enfield Voluntary Action need to be in agreement with the following statement: “Enfield Voluntary Action recognises that people can be discriminated against both intentionally and unintentionally because of their race, skin colour, ethnic origin, religion, cultural beliefs, nationality, national origin, gender and sexuality. Young people, older people and people with disabilities are discriminated against due to lack of understanding about their capabilities and experiences. People who are HIV positive or who are living with AIDS face discrimination because of other people’s lack of awareness. In providing services to voluntary, community and charitable organisations EVA will not discriminate against these groups of people and will expect our members to operate in the same way”.

B. ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP
2. Associate Membership is open to:
2.1 Groups in the London Borough of Enfield that provide less than 80% of their services to Enfield residents
2.2 Agencies other than voluntary and community organisations based in the London Borough of Enfield.
2.3 Voluntary and Community Organisations who take up Associate Membership of Enfield Voluntary Action need to be in agreement with the following statement: Enfield Voluntary Action recognises that people can be discriminated against both intentionally and unintentionally because of their race, skin colour, ethnic origin, religion, cultural beliefs, nationality, national origin, gender and sexuality. Young people, older people and people with disabilities are discriminated against due to lack of understanding about their capabilities and experiences. In providing services to voluntary, community and charitable organisations EVA will not discriminate against these groups of people and will expect our members to operate in the same way.
It will not be possible for Associate Members to nominate representatives to EVA’s Management Committee/Board of Trustees or to take part in elections to that Committee.
Priority For EVA’s Services will be given to Full Members.
C. DOCUMENTATION REQUIREMENTS
EVA must be provided with a copy of the organisations:
• Constitution; or Memorandum and Articles of Association; or Governing Document; or Aims and Objectives
• Equal Opportunities Statement or demonstrated commitment to Equal Opportunities within governing document. This should reflect the categories outlined in 1.2 above.
• The names and home addresses of three committee members, preferably officers, i.e. Chair, Vice Chair, Treasurer, Secretary. (This is for EVA’s internal use only the information will NOT be disclosed). Please note, the Data Protection Act covers all information held by Enfield Voluntary Action.
