Membership criteria

Membership of EVA

All groups based in the London Borough of Enfield and any other groups providing services to groups/residents in the London Borough of Enfield can be on EVA’s mailing list and will receive EVA correspondence via post or e-mail. This does not automatically mean that the organisation is a member of EVA.

To become a member of EVA, the group must complete a Membership Application Form and provide a copy of its Constitution, Equal Opportunities Policy, most recent accounts and list of Current Trustees.

Cost of membership

Membership of EVA is currently free.

Types of membership

There are three types of membership depending on the type of organisation

(i) Introductory (ii) Full (iii) Associate

(i)  Introductory membership

This membership is for newly formed voluntary organisations with charitable aims, under 2 years of age based in the London Borough of Enfield and providing the majority of its services to Enfield Residents. The group will need to have a Management Committee of at least three members and have at least a draft Governing Document. Introductory Membership will be for a maximum of two years with a view to the organisation becoming a full member after that time if it meets the additional Full Membership requirements.

(ii)  Full membership

The requirement for a group wishing to become a Full Member of EVA are that it:

•  is based in the London Borough of Enfield and providing the majority of its services to residents of the London Borough of Enfield. (Groups based in the Borough but with a London wide or

   national remit according to their Governing Document, may be eligible for Associate Membership -see below-  but will not be eligible for Full Membership)

•  has an appropriate governing document

•  has a Management Committee/Board of Trustees of at least three members

•  has an Equal Opportunities Policy

•  has a Safeguarding Policy

•  has a Health and Safety Policy

•  is a non-profit making group and independent of local or central government control.

(iii)  Associate membership

The requirement for a group wishing to become an Associate Member of EVA are that it:

•  provides some services to the residents of the London Borough of Enfield

•  has an appropriate governing document

•  has a Management Committee/Board of Trustees of at least three members

•  has an Equal Opportunities Policy

•  has a Safeguarding Policy

•  has a Health and Safety Policy

•  is a non-profit making group and independent of local or central government control.
